Compose a cover letter.

Composition should include

  • determining the type of cover letter
    • applying for a specific position
    • inquiring for positions available (i.e., letter of inquiry)
  • using proper letter format
  • referencing how the applicant learned of the position
  • referencing the specific position for which the applicant is applying
  • displaying a knowledge of the business
  • referencing the résumé, by highlighting qualifications and relevant background
  • requesting an interview
  • paying attention to grammar and content.
