Serving on an interview panel should include

  • adhering to organizational policy
  • researching legislation affecting the recruitment and selection process (e.g., right to privacy, ADA, Equal Employment Opportunity [EEO] laws)
  • identifying selection tools (e.g., interviews, tests, and reference checks) and discussing why each is used
  • assisting in the preparation of an ordered set of interview questions to be asked in the same manner of all applicants.
