  • interpersonal skills
  • technological skills
  • leadership skills (e.g., membership in career and technical student organizations [CTSO]).

Thinking

  • How can an individual’s or family’s involvement help a community?
  • Why should individuals and families consider their resources and skills before becoming involved in the community?

Communication

  • How can it be communicated what resources and skills could benefit a community?
  • What individual and family resources can be found through networking and technology?

Leadership

  • How can it be determined what leadership roles are needed to provide service in a community?
  • What opportunities are found in the community that offer leadership training as a volunteer experience?

Management

  • How can networking be an effective management tool?
  • How can resources in the community be identified as credible?
