Identification should include

  • valid contract
  • death certificates
  • transportation by common carrier
  • embalming report for each decedent prepared by the funeral home
  • function of a court of equity
  • legal doctrine regarding the photographing of a decedent
  • privileges and limitations of one holding the power of attorney
  • cremations authorization process (long distance)
  • embalming authorization (verbal and written)
  • medical examiner/authorization for cremation and/or burial at sea
  • requirements for visual identification of decedent.
