Demonstrate resource management.

Demonstration should include prioritizing goals and identifying and managing resources such as

  • financial resources—determining how money will be spent to get the work done and accounting for these expenditures
  • material resources—obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
  • personnel resources—motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job, efficiently using personal time and the time of others.

  • What types of resources will you need to manage on a given job?
  • What is a histogram? How could a histogram assist in managing material resources?
  • Why is time considered such a valuable resource?
  • What is the chief goal of resource management?
  • Why is it important to allocate resources when managing personnel?
