Application should include

• reading and following manufacturer instructions for the application of a chemical relaxer
• applying relaxer to hair shaft
• performing periodic strand test
• rinsing relaxer from hair with cool water with a steady flow of water away from the scalp.
• shampooing hair with a neutralizing shampoo as directed by the manufacturer
• reconditioning the hair
• towel drying the hair
• reexamining the scalp
• styling as desired by client.
