- understanding federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to childcare

- giving full attention to the child (e.g., not engaging in personal phone calls/instant messaging, not allowing visits from friends, and not wearing headphones)
- following procedures in regard to special dietary needs
- interacting constructively with the child
- managing the child’s behavior as instructed.
