Selection should include

• identifying the types of OCPD fuses used in system wiring (e.g., plug, cartridge, blade, type S/SL)
• identifying the types of circuit breakers in single- and three-phase systems (e.g., single-pole 120 V, double-pole 208 V/240 V, triple-pole 480 V)
• using the NEC to determine the correct type of OCPD for use in new and existing and new installations

in accordance with NEC, instructor’s guidelines, and manufacturer's nameplate data.

• What is a double-pole OCPD?
• Who are the different manufacturers of service entrance panels (SEPs)?
• How are OCPDs selected in reference to wire size?
• How does one identify whether a system is a single-phase or a three-phase system?
