Explanation should include
- understanding the investment needed for different education and/or training options, in terms of time and funds
- exploring ways to fund education and/or training, along with the advantages and disadvantages of each
- personal funds
- scholarships (e.g., athletic, academic, need-based)
- grants (e.g., Pell, TEACH, military)
- student loans
- using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Links to an external site. (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for student aid.
Process/Skill Questions:
- How might you pay for the cost of your future education and/or training?
- How often must a FAFSA be completed?
- What sources of college funding do not require repayment? What types of opportunities and resources offer student loan forgiveness?
