Identification should include describing and translating signage and special markings (e.g., floor paint) that identify work and caution areas. Identification should also include

• events that could trigger an evacuation
• the location and interpretation of the posted evacuation route
• the destination and procedures for evacuation.

• What are the different types of work zones?
• How do you know if additional safety equipment or clothing is needed to enter a safety area?
• How are walkways identified in the lab/workshop area?
