Demonstration should include

  • using required PPE
  • identifying hazards associated with given maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment
  • identifying OSHA color codes for marking physical hazards
  • verifying all tools and equipment are in good operating condition, according to OSHA standards
  • using required safety devices (e.g., guards and/or shields in place, tool rests adjusted)
  • using language, symbols, and procedures related to the operation of equipment
  • operating hand tools, power tools, equipment, and machinery following all safety procedures according to manufacturer specifications, industry-recommended practices, and instructor guidelines.
