Demonstration should include

• identifying the standard routes of medication administration (e.g., topical, parenteral, oral)
• identifying the advantages and disadvantages of the various routes
• comparing the absorption rates and ease of administration for the various routes
• appropriate injection sites.

• What medication administration route has the slowest rate of absorption? What route has the fastest rate of absorption?
• Why are absorption rates of importance in medication administration?
• When might a slower absorption rate be preferred?
