Edit copy.
Editing should include
- formatting the document for accessibility
- reviewing punctuation
- applying editing technology as appropriate (e.g., Track Changes, grammar software tools, spell check)
- recognizing benefits of proofreading in addition to using spell check (e.g., to correct “Think you” when what is meant is “Thank you”)
- reviewing copy using proofreaders’ marks
- finalizing the draft.
