Refine job interview skills.
Refining should
- allow students practice for an actual interview (both in-person and virtually)
- allow students to roleplay interview scenarios
- illustrate desirable behaviors (e.g., maintaining eye contact, asking informed questions)
- address undesirable behaviors (e.g., speaking too softly, failing to answer questions completely).
In addition, students should
- consider various interview formats (e.g., phone screenings, virtual interviews, group interviews, panel interviews, informal interviews)
- exhibit promptness
- have a résumé for reference
- display a professional appearance
- distinguish between legal and illegal interview questions
- thank the interviewer.
