Practice tool safety.
Practice should include
- identifying safety concerns when using basic hand tools, power tools, precision tools, and specialty equipment
- identifying components of machinery (e.g., guards, blades, moving parts, start/stop switches)
- identifying standard safety procedures (i.e., classroom/lab practices and manufacturer recommendations)
- observing a demonstration of the safe operation and use of each piece of machinery in the
- identifying tool defects
- notifying the instructor about heavily worn, broken, or malfunctioning tools.
