skin infections (e.g., ringworm, athlete’s foot, impetigo, staph)
respiratory infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis, coronavirus disease [COVID-19])
bloodborne infections (e.g., septicemia, hepatitis)
systemic infections (e.g., influenza, mononucleosis, Lyme disease).

Process/Skill Questions:

What is the appropriate care for skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, impetigo, and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)?
When are athletes with contagious skin infections permitted to participate in their sport?
How can athletes prevent the spread of skin infections and respiratory infections?
What are the signs and symptoms of influenza, mononucleosis, and Lyme disease?
