Complete a nationally recognized certification in CPR/AED.
Completion includes fulfillment of the course requirements of a nationally recognized emergency cardiac care certifying organization, such as the American Heart Association Links to an external site..
Emergency cardiac care includes
- adult, pediatric, and infant CPR
- AED
- second rescuer CPR
- airway obstruction
- barrier devices, including a bag valve mask (BVM).
Note: The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) requires candidates to have a current CPR certification for their certification exam.
