Service should include
- checking the condition of the outer case for physical and heat damage
- checking the connectors for corrosion and wear
- checking the state of charge
- checking the electrolyte level and specific gravity
- cleaning the battery
- removing corrosion from terminals
- charging the battery to proper voltage as outlined in the battery service manual
- adding distilled water as required
- performing a capacity check to determine the strength of battery cells.
