Service batteries.

Service should include 

  • checking the condition of the outer case for physical and heat damage 
  • checking the connectors for corrosion and wear 
  • checking the state of charge 
  • checking the electrolyte level and specific gravity 
  • cleaning the battery 
  • removing corrosion from terminals 
  • charging the battery to proper voltage as outlined in the battery service manual 
  • adding distilled water as required 
  • performing a capacity check to determine the strength of battery cells.
