Description should include aspects of management applied to the daily operations of a business, such as

  • type (e.g., motivational, administrative)
  • function (e.g., planning, organizing, implementing, controlling)
  • skill set (e.g., communication skills, human relations skills, teamwork skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, knowledge of the business)
  • ethics (e.g., workplace, consumer).

Process/Skill Questions:

  • How are roles of management affected by an individual’s interests, strengths, or experience?
  • What portion of responsibility should each function of management hold?
  • What are the most important skills managers should develop?
  • How does an individual’s background affect their values and integrity?
  • What practices have affected the area of ethics over time?
