Scout potential locations.
Scouting locations should include completing a location survey that may contain the following information, as relevant:
- The exact address of the location
- How the location adds or detracts from the message, including things in the background or foreground that may distract or add context
- Permission and permit requirements
- Equipment necessary for the shoot
- Parking, truck and equipment ingress and egress, entryways, and loading dock procedures
- Number of crew members needed on location
- Where the camera would be placed
- What the potential scene would physically look like
- Assessment of light sources, including the presence or absence of natural light and lighting temperature spectrum from mixed sources
- Power sources and their distances to the set location
- Access to bathrooms
- Access to food for the crew
- Access to Internet and Internet speed
- Proximity to hospitals, medical facilities, and/or emergency response teams
- List of sound and/or lighting issues, if any
- List of safety concerns, if any
