Inspect, remove, label, store, and reinstall body panels and components that may interfere with or be damaged during repair.

Procedures should include

  • protecting panels and parts adjacent to the repair area
  • inspecting, removing, replacing, and aligning front bumpers, headers, fenders, and other exterior bolted-on panels
    • bolted, bonded, and welded steel panel or panel assemblies
    • hood, hood hinges, and the hood latch
    • the deck lid, lid hinges, and the lid latch
    • doors, tailgates, hatches, lift gates, latches, hinges, and related hardware.
    • following OE manufacturer recommendations.
