Perform a visual evaluation and destructive test on each weld type.

Performance should include weld types such as butt welds, lap and flange welds, plug welds, spot welds, stitches.

Destructive testing should include the following steps:

  1. Clamp the base metal to the table.
  2. Apply force (e.g., with a chisel) until the metal or weld breaks.
  3. Ascertain the quality of the weld. If part of the metal tears off with the weld, the fusion is complete. If the metal separates from the weld cleanly, the weld is too weak.
