Course Description:
This course helps students build the essential knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in today’s agriculture and agribusiness industries. Through project-based learning, students explore personal financial management, consumer decision‑making, business structures, marketing strategies, economic principles, and the safe operation of agricultural tools and technologies. They also practice real‑world employability and communication skills, such as résumé writing, interviewing, digital professionalism, and recordkeeping, while gaining a deeper understanding of how agriculture drives the local, national, and global economies. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to make informed financial choices, contribute to agricultural workplaces, and pursue future education and career pathways with confidence. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
Note: Competencies within this course ensure compliance with the National FFA Organization's Federal Charter Amendments Act (Public Law 116-7). Through this legislation, students are provided opportunities for leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
