Course Description:

This program provides the knowledge and the hands-on skills needed to secure a job as a construction equipment operator. Students learn about site grading and development, excavation, drainage and utility structures, pipe laying, and other topics. They study soil, learn to read blueprints, and gain experience in operating bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, excavators, and skid steers. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
