Course Description:

In Cybersecurity Operations, Advanced, students explore security analysis and network security, monitoring and detecting security incidents in information systems and networks. The course introduces tools and tactics to manage cybersecurity risks, identify common threats, evaluate an organization's security, collect and analyze cybersecurity intelligence, and handle cybersecurity incidents. Students will understand threats, attacks and vulnerabilities, architecture and design considerations in a business environment, implementation of security operations, risk and incident response, ethics, and cryptography. Instruction will emphasize preparation for industry certification. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
