Course Description:

This course focuses on enabling students to make informed career and continuing education choices as they transition from school, gain technical skills, and adapt to the workplace. Students will learn to apply ethical behaviors and career-research, job-acquisition, workplace-communication, self-awareness, self-advocacy, customer-service, and life skills. This course offers practical learning opportunities for students to enter the workforce with acquired workplace readiness skills and knowledge and to take advantage of economic opportunities. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
