Plan a solution to an engineering design problem, as part of a team.
Planning should include
- defining an engineering design problem that your team wants to solve
- defining the job description of each member of your team
- brainstorming and researching possible solutions for the engineering design problem
- planning the chosen solution
- identifying resources needed to produce the design (e.g., tools, energy, materials, people, time, information, and capital)
- illustrating the chosen solution, using sketches or drawings
- predicting how the design will work.
Process/Skill Questions:
- Why is it useful to work in teams?
- Why are job descriptions for each member important?
- How do communication and cooperation within a team help them meet goals and objectives?
- How can differences be resolved when group members disagree with one another? How can disagreement be beneficial?
