Course Description:

Students in this course will explore the principles of energy demand with an emphasis on sustainability and efficiency. Concepts include energy demand and utilization across sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation. Students apply the design process to improve facility efficiency, perform energy audits, and explore new and emerging technologies and will recognize their role as energy stewards of tomorrow. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
