Course Description:

Students in this course will explore the principles of energy supply with an emphasis on sustainability and efficiency. Concepts include energy supply and sources (such as wind, solar, nuclear, and biomass), energy generation, innovations in energy, and career exploration. Students apply knowledge by designing, mapping, and modeling energy systems and will recognize their role as energy stewards of tomorrow. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
