Course Description:

This course serves students with special needs who desire and can benefit from business and information technology studies. The course should be developed cooperatively between local business and information technology teachers and other specialized education personnel based on individual needs of the students. This framework contains a list of competencies that may be included in students' individual plans. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-Quality Work-Based Learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
