Course Description:

Introduction to Family and Human Services helps students identify professional opportunities within the Human Services career cluster. Students investigate supports for individuals and families to preserve, promote, and protect public health and well-being. Students will assess the needs of clients, determine the support needed, and demonstrate human services career skills. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
