Inspect, remove, protect, label, store, and reinstall vehicle mechanical and electrical components that may interfere with or be damaged during repair.

Procedures should include

    • switches, relays, bulbs, sockets, connectors, and wires of all light circuits, including four-wire tail lamp or light systems
    • head lamp or light bulbs
  • identifying programmable electrical/electronic components
  •  recording data for reprogramming before disconnecting a battery
  • demonstrating self-grounding procedures for handling electrical components
  • removing, replacing, and checking operation of

    • parking or tail lamp or light
    • stop lamp or light
    • flashers
    • turn signals
    • backup lamp or light
    • Advance Driver Assist Systems (ADAS)
  • protecting exposed connectors
  • following OE guidelines and recommendations.
