Course Description:

This course focuses on the design of biotechnology solutions utilizing living organisms, or other resources, to accomplish the goal of meeting human needs. Students will engage in designing biotechnical systems and in the methods employed in bioethics decision-making. Additionally, students will gain insight and understanding about biotechnology career fields. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
