Course Description:
Students continue exploring the foundations of mental health assisting careers, learning the principles of pharmacology, and applying treatment plans. This course teaches students to collect and analyze data while applying mental health communication strategies. Upon completion of the course, students will have mastered team-building skills, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid, and emergency care skills. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
