Course Description:

Students develop fundamental skills for a career in the electrical industry. Students will explore residential and commercial electrical systems. Activities include installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial electrical systems. Students will engage in hands-on activities in a simulated job-site environment. They will be introduced to industry safety standards and earn their 10-hour card through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Training Program for the Construction Industry. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
