Course Description:

This course focuses on various cutting-edge technologies and techniques relevant in the field of health and medical sciences. Students will explore the interconnected health of all organisms and the environment. Students will explore deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) analysis, bioinformatics, and ethical considerations in biotechnology. Students will gain insight and understanding about biotechnology career fields in health and medical sciences. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
